Who we are
This website is run by Pete Hughes Property Services, Pete Hughes’s home improvement business. Pete decides how your details are used, so he’s responsible for them under UK data protection law.
If you’ve a question about your information, email pete@phps.uk or WhatsApp 07356 271566.
What we collect and why
When you fill in the quote form, we get what you’ve got in mind, your name, phone number, email and the project’s postcode. Pete uses them to get back to you, come and have a look, quote and do the work.
When you email, WhatsApp or message us on Facebook, we use what you send us to help you.
We use your details because you’ve asked us for a quote or some work, and because the law asks us to keep some records, like our accounts.
We don’t sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own marketing.
Who else handles your details
The quote form sends your details to Pete as an email. There’s no database behind this website: the email in Pete’s inbox is the record. These companies run the systems involved, and see your details only as far as they need to:
- GSD Lab builds and looks after this website.
- Cloudflare hosts the website and delivers the form’s email to Pete.
- Google runs Pete’s email inbox.
- Brevo sends the emails Pete writes from pete@phps.uk.
- PostHog measures visits to this website, without cookies (more below).
- Meta runs WhatsApp and Facebook, if you contact us there.
Some of these companies may handle information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards and contracts those services provide.
Cookies and measuring visits
This website doesn’t set cookies.
We count visits with PostHog, which works without cookies and stores nothing on your device. It shows us which pages people read and which ones lead to a quote request. To tell one visit from another on the same day, it turns your IP address and browser type into a code that changes every day and can’t be turned back into either. It doesn’t keep your IP address and doesn’t tell us who you are. PostHog stores this data in the EU and explains how it handles it at posthog.com/privacy.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while we’re talking about your project or doing the work. After that, we keep what we need for any follow-up on the work and for our accounts, for as long as the law or those purposes need. Then we delete it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email pete@phps.uk and we’ll sort it within a month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
